Summary:As everyone at school tries to move on with the aid of grief counselor April, Jo battles with her father over her friendship with Danny as she and Rico set out to prove Danny's innocence. In an effort to show that he is a normal kid, Danny and Jo set up a dinner between their two families, which goes awry when the adults drudge up past grievances. Meanwhile, Lacey struggles to cope with her emotions and bristles when former 'frenemy,' Phoebe, attempts to bond with her.
To start off, here is a little back story: Danny's family seemingly are well off. His dad is some type of entrepreneur and his aunt was an author. Seemingly his mom was just a housewife and probably so that she could have some time with her girlfriends, or herself, she would have Danny's aunt (his dad's sister) watch him. Now, for a reason which Danny never goes into, Danny isn't fond of his aunt Tara. The way the show makes it seem, he may have been molested, abused or something serious. Either way, it seems like when he was 11, he had enough and then somehow killed her with a jump rope.
Jump forward 5 years and he is out of prison and back in Green Grove. Now, a lot has happened since he went in and this includes his father either disappearing (my bet) or his dad dying. No one knows for sure since no body is found, but according to Karen (Denise Richards), Danny's mom, the dad has made quite a few bad investments recently, so the reason they couldn't go elsewhere is because they don't have the funds. To me, and Danny, seemingly Karen was more interested in picking up where she left off as one of the most popular moms and perhaps she wanted to maintain her lifestyle. Either way, there isn't much told about what Karen did during those 5 years.
