Euro U21 Championship: Israel U21 vs England U21 Match Preview

England U21s bring their hugely disappointing European Championship campaign to a close on Tuesday when they face hosts Israel in Jerusalem.

A 1-0 defeat to Italy and a 3-1 reverse to unfancied Norway ended England's chances of advancing from their group and they will be flying home after the match.

Under-pressure boss Stuart Pearce - whose position will be reviewed on his return - has indicated that he will give his squad players a chance to shine after his first-choice picks failed to impress.

Pearce made no secret of his disappointment at the Norway result in particular.

Henri Lansbury will again be missing though - the Nottingham Forest midfielder has been struggling with a groin strain throughout the tournament and Pearce has ruled him out of the Jerusalem clash.

Middlesbrough goalkeeper Jason Steele, Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran and Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom are all likely to be given a run out as England try to at least finish the tournament with a bang.

Israel held Norway to a 2-2 draw in their opening match but were hammered 4-0 by the Italians in their second match.

To have any chance of progressing to the semi-finals the hosts need a healthy victory over England and hope the Italians wallop Norway.
